Thur Devotional Seedless

Matt 7:17

17        Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

(KJV)

FROM WIKIPEDIA

Seedless fruits are fruits that have been developed to possess no seeds, generally to make consumption easier and more convenient. They are therefore considered commercially valuable. Most commercially-produced seedless fruits have been developed from plants whose fruits normally contain numerous relatively large hard seeds distributed throughout the flesh of the fruit.

What kind of fruit do you produce?

One of God’s earliest commands were, “be fruitful and multiply”.  This is true in the Spirit as well.  When we do a good deed, the deed should continue on well past our human action.  We live from faith to faith.  The faith of Christ was passed down to the Apostles. Their faith was passed down to us.  Our faith should continue on after we are gone.

Sometimes our fruits are seedless though.

This happens when we do something good for selfish reasons.

When we truly don’t understand that our life is not our own, then our fruit is seedless.  The “good” that we do has short term temporary benefit.  It makes us feel good.  It makes us look good.  Seedless Fruits are good deeds based upon our EGO and VANITY.

A Pastor teaching the congregation to trust in him….seedless.

A pastor teaching the congregation to trust in HIS Word and listen to His Spirit….fruit with seeds.

A basketball coach teaching kids, “winning at all cost”….seedless.

A basketball coach teaching kids Christian Principles while teaching them a game….fruit with seeds.

A congregation performing charity work in order to show the community that they are “loving”….seedless.

A congregation making community service PERSONAL to them….fruit with seeds.

What kind of fruit are you producing?

Seedless fruit may be more convenient but it creates a dependence upon the corporation for more fruit.

The Gospel is not convenient.

The Gospel is fruitful.  Fruit with seeds.
