Wed Dev Double Vision
Jer 23:16
16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
(KJV)
Hab 2:2-3
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
(KJV)
A vision from the Lord is inspiring. A vision from the Lord brings clarification. A vision from the Lord is something that we can press for.
Often time though, we have our own “visions” for how things are supposed to be. Our vision can become a terror to our families, friends and co-workers.
Let’s make this practical:
God may have a vision of good health for you.
You probably have a vision of He-Man abs and pecs for yourself.
There is a big difference.
God may have a vision for you to be a living witness for Him in the workplace.
You may have a vision to be the CEO.
There is a big difference.
God may have a vision for your home to be a welcoming place for lost people.
You may have a vision for your home to be a “CRIB”.
There is a big difference. (When your home is a CRIB, you won’t be willing to invite folk over because they may steal your flatscreens.)
God may have a vision for you to be an Evangelist to the nations.
You may have a vision that you want to be just like “pastor” and stay in somebodies pulpit.
There is a big difference.
We have visions for how things are “supposed” to be. We will make people miserable in order to obtain that vision. Unless it’s truly part of God’s vision then it really shouldn’t be something worth arguing about.
Are you striving for your Vision or His?
