Thursday Devotional Jealous
2 Corinthians 11:2-4
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

The word jealous in the bible is better translated as zealous or “with heat”. The word zealous means “marked by fervent partisanship for a person” or “eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of something”. In other words, to use an anthropomorphic phrase, “GOD IS CRAZY ABOUT YOU!!!”.
God ain’t crazy though. He is the definition of sanity and order.
Part of that order is YOU walking closely with HIM in relationship.
When we don’t walk with Him like we should, He burns hot for us. Unlike a man, He doesn’t need us. He burns zealously for us because He knows that we really need Him.
That’s where the “anthropomorphism” breaks down. Men and women get jealous because of fear, basically a fear of loss. They fear losing their loved one.
God doesn’t fear losing us for His sake.
God is zealous for us because He knows our “other man” is using us. You know who the other man is. Just like a woman, we don't leave our main man(Jesus) for nothing. We leave Him because we are considering other options.(the Devil) God knows what the other man is going to do to you.
Like a parent looking for their child who is lost on the streets.
Like a shepherd looking for his lost sheep.
God is zealous for you.
He loves you.
